Perfect, thank you.  I guess I took the "don't continue on through 
this doc until you've gotten the examples in the mini-howto working" 
bits too seriously.

I also found this document the howto recommended, which tells you how 
exactly to troubleshoot your NAT setup, quite useful... even though my 
setup is now working despite not passing all the tests listed therein:
