I thought about it in the early days, but couldn't figure out how to
use it in a way that would be useful for LVS. I thought of it for
VS-DR to send the reply packets through the director, on the assumption
that the director wouldn't see the packets and there would be no martian
problem (see the HOWTO for using the director as the default gw for 
VS-DR). However people on this list told me that the director would still
see the packets. 

The subject comes up now and again and then drops off everyone's radar 
screen. I'd be interested if someone found a use for it.
