LVS itself doesn't provide any way of monitoring servers at all. There are
several monitoring packages available. Keepalived supports the
functionality that you want, but I'm not sure if any others do.

Subject: backup real server

Hi everyone:

Can I configure a backup real server? That is, one real server receives
all the requests but when it's down, the backup real server receives
requests (for example this can be useful with http service if I can have
a http backup server with "we are doing maintenance" pages).

I can't find any comment in the docs about this functionality.

TIA,

Vicente
