Error

 help me, I am trying to install an application (ktcpvs) in Conectiva 2.4.18, 
more this giving error:
cd regex && ./configure && make)
loading cache ./config.cache
checking for gcc....no
checking for cc.....no
configure: error: no acceptable cc found in $PATH
make: ***[regex/librxspencer.a]Error 1

In the case what would the one be gcc and cc??  
   it is possible to install the ktcpvs in the conectiva???
