Has anyone ever used LVS with SQL server ?

Test Setup is :

1 LVS
2 Web servers (Win 2003) (set up as one vip)
1 SQL server (will add another later as read only.) (setup as another vip)

All in DR mode and on the same subnet.
The web servers work fine but sometimes (often) they timeout when trying 
to reach the sql server via the VIP ? (no timeouts if they use the RIP).
SQL server is just a simple 1433 tcp protocol as I understand it ?

Any ideas ?
