Best place to set the fwmark

What is the best place to set the firewall mark? I dont see any place in 
ldirectord or ipvsadm or in heartbeat to set the firewall mark. I have a 
separate trivial scrip to issue the command:
iptables -t mangle -A PREROUTING -d 172.24.6.107/32 -j MARK --set-mark 100

I looked at the IPaddr and IPaddr2 scripts under /etc/ha.d/resource.d. I 
dont want to taint these generic scripts.
Where do people normally set the fwmarks?
