Questions about versions

Hello,

I've inherited several lvs setup from somone who is no longer working
here. When I check the version of ldirectord that's running now it is
1.93

my($VERSION)=(qw$Id: ldirectord,v 1.93 2004/11/09 03:58:42 horms Exp $)[2];

yet, the newer copy on the cvsweb says 1.42.

how does the versioning work?
