looks fine

If this was in a hosted environment and i wanted to ssh / ftp into the
individual web servers so i could alter content / change configuration.
How would i perform this?

through a separate administrative network that the clients can't get to no matter what. This usually means through a separate NIC on the director (and realservers if you don't want to hop from the director).
