I don't think it ever worked on 127.0.0.1....
BUT it definitely does work on a locally bound IP address :

I just set up a quick test on 2 kernels

2.6.25.11 &

2.6.32.7

Pound configured to convert HTTP:192.168.2.121 -> HTTP 192.168.2.121
LVS eth0 = 192.168.2.121:80 NAT config to eth1 on 192.168.20.121
-> real server 192.168.20.178:80

Both seem to work fine

IPVS connection entries
pro expire state       source             virtual            destination
TCP 14:53  ESTABLISHED 192.168.2.121:35089 192.168.2.121:80   192.168.20.178:80
