Wensong,
Being new to the list I am not sure what level of interest or need others
have
for the virtual server project. I can say that the time is right here to start
moving our
data centers back to UNIX and away from NT due to the need for high
availability/scalable services.
The functionality offered via the virtual server project is pretty much the
backbone of our plan
to do just that.
Over the next months we will be testing and hopefully deploying a
configuration as mentioned
in a previous (my first) post to this list. The pool of old school UNIX talent
on my team is
somewhat thin at the moment so I am unclear on the level of contribution(s) we
will be able to provide
your project. For that reason, the idea of STATUS and TODO messages to the
list would
be very useful in planning and knowing what others are needing. We can
certainly provide
information and help answer questions related to actually building a
respectable size virtual server
on server class hardware.
