Well yesterday was the big day. My LVS cluster has now been on line for just over 24hrs and has performed flawlessly under what we used to call a really heavy load. We had about 11000 users log into our site and had a total of about 1M hits, about 110K of these where scripts which hit an Oracle database. This load would normally bring our old system to a crawl, thanks to you people I am the company hero (for a day). I am verry impressed with the load balancing and would like to say thanks to all the people who have worked on the Linux Virtual Server Project. I have mrtg set up to monitor 4 out of 6 of my servers and I have to tell you the first time I looked at the graphs I thought that I had made a mistake in the index page because the graphs where all exatly the same. It turns out of course that they are not quite exactly the same, but very hard to tell apart. Not only do the load average graphs look exacly the same, but the RAM usage looks almost exacly the same too. Static snapshots of the load average graphs from this morning for 4 of the servers are available at http://www.secretshopnet.com/mrtg/ Again, thanks to everyone who contributed to this project.
