Through various previous hats I'm subscribed to lists where technical
subareas of systems administration can be discussed in a largely
platform-neutral space. Mailing list administration, newsgroup
moderation and news server administration being three immediate examples
that come to mind.
Is there such a list for web site administrators? I don't mean a list
or newsgroup on web server software, but something more general
including topics like capacity analysis and planning, site monitoring,
choosing colo providers, peering (bgp) issues, load balancing, selecting
and upgrading server/network hardware, etc. Something a bit more
serious and advanced than the average "I run apache on my Linux box at
home" admin is going to be dealing with.
