Implementing content smart redirection using lvs

Is there a way to implement content-smart redirection using lvs? Basically,
this involves looking at the TCP data for the URL before the redirection
can be setup. Once, the redirection is setup, then lvs just forwards packets
with minimal changes to the IP packets. I would appreciate ideas or info
on other projects that try to do this. Thanks.
