The lvs patch 2.2.14 is for kernel 2.2.14... You are trying to patch kernel 2.2.5 (update 15)

Go download kernel 2.2.14 and apply the patch to that..

I have newbie question. please assist me in this regard.

I am trying to patch lvs with kernel 2.2.5-15. I have chosen the lvs patch
for kernel 2.2.14. Am i making sense here?. I guess  2.2.5-15 means I can
patch lvspatch for 2.2.14.  while I am trying to patch using

# cat /usr/local/ipvs-0.9.11-2.2.14/ipvs-0.9.11-2.2.14.patch | patch -p1 

It is showing errors.  Can anybody explain me How can i patch to kernel and recompile and make
newthings work. I read kernel Howto.
