Ok. But make sure you discuss the design with the maintainers.

Cool, try to make it as open as possible to avoid making cludgy patches
when it is about to be extended. So the dependency should not be only
for DBMS but generally for a service type. In a second step you could
make your design to favour a flag bit field, something like the 
sigprocmask(2). A RIP can then be dependant on multiple mission critical
services. Just an idea ...
