do you want help with the other one too?

The configure script is over-zealous about declaring conditions fatal. You can 
run
an LVS without nptd. I've changed this message in the upcoming release to a 
notice. 
For the moment you can run the rc.lvs_xxx file by hand on the director and 
realservers. You'll have to know which messages are fatal and which aren't.
If you don't know, just try the LVS and see if it works.
