Yes I think Zack has the right idea here... in this case just a linux-ha
setup, NOT LVS would probably suffice best.

so VIP is a resource that the active node stakes its claim on.  web-1 and
web-2 each have their own IP address.  if the active node fails then within
a few seconds the VIP resource will transmute to the other node via black
magic.  :)
