As far as I remember,
the problem occurred with a D-Link NIC (DFE-530TX, via-rhine, connection to the
realserver) and intel ether express pro/100 (e100, 'external' connection).
For both NICs I used the driver provided by the kernel.
I didn't continue solving this problem because of a lack of time. I developed
kind of workaround with iptables and DNAT.
