those files hold values, some o'them you can alter some not.
For example ip_forward :
cat ip_forward : 1 it's on
0 it's off
you can alter it : echo X > ip_forward
it's kinda winRegistery on steroids because it's actually in the RAM not a real
file on the disk !
pretty sweet --- i think linuxconf does access it .
