Hi,

I use a linux firewall with iptables and that is a dedicated firewall, for
the used firewall
rules just look at the Windows Media and Real Media site's.

http://www.expressresponse.com/cgi-bin/progsnp/real_sts/srchjnnp?search_type
=vdocument&search_input=rvs00038.html&session_id=1018686568.12601.7&other=tw
o&template=koala%2ehtml&search_erproduct=RealSystemServer8%5f0Basic&user_inp
ut=firewall&producttype=servers

http://service.real.com/firewall/adminrs.html

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/serve/firewall.asp

But i think that basicly every firewall can do the job.
And the type of LVS is direct routing ( i think this one is the best for
streaming becuase NAT has a extra delay for a few ms).

Here a overview of what i have

              Internet

LoadDirector      \                \          \
                       2x WM    2x RM    2x QT
                            |                |           |
                             \               |          /
                                Fileserver (NFS)
