Thanks for the new solution, but I have patched my new 2.4.x-kernel with 
your 'hidden'-patch.
My problem: I've set the wrong interface to hidden.

Does the command

#echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/<interface_name>/hidden

redo the changes?
