I tried compiling kernel 2.4.19 (adding the missing sys_wait4 symbol to 
s390_ksyms.c) and LVS from scratch on a second linux guest, and it now works.

I also patched the kernel with IBM's "May 2002 stream", although this 
shouldn't really matter.

Finally we have a working ipvs 1.0.7 installation on S390.
