Dear Mailing list.
First of all please excuse me for including a link. I know that is
frowned upon, yet I did not see any other way of displaying properly
what I wish to do. If you could kindly visit the URL you will find a
picture of the setup I am having to work with. I know an ascii art
would have been a way to go I am just not very artsy.
The file can be found here: http://useme.net/lvs.png
All of the described Server have at least three NIC. I was looking at
the documentation and I think it would be best for us to setup a LVS-DR
or LVS-TUN. I am simpyl not sure how to best implement this.
It is possible for the Director Box to have a public, rout-able IP.
The traffic has to pass through the director on its incoming path how
it is passed back to the client does not matter.
My idea is to setup something like I tried to show in the graphic. I am
just a bit confused by the mentioning of the RIP and VIP in the
documentation. The Virtual IP surely refers to the IP of the
"Serverpool" yet I do nto quite get how this is setup on the Server
machines. Does this mean I am creating an IP alias ala eth0:0 VIP or
should I use a real interface for that ?
On The director I could have
eth0 Public IP
eth1 Private IP
Maybe I have overlooked some of the fundamentals of LVS, I would be
delighted if you could point out some more hints to me. Even though the
Howto is great after reading nearly 100 pages of it I am simply a tad
bit confused. Thank you very much in advance.
