NFS is a problem in that you can't fail it out. See the HOWTO

there is a section on XDCMP in the HOWTO. I haven't got it to
work properly yet. I didn't spend a lot of time on it and don't
know whether the problems are solvable.

LVS is designed to load balance servers. There is nothing special
about http and https. However not all services have been written
in a way that makes it easy to split the tcpip connection amongst
3 machines (the client, director and realserver).
