Thank you Joseph for your response.
I finally got it working!! Keepalived was looking for
some header files which were missing from /usr/include
but were present under /usr/kerberos/include/ I had to
link them and then it installed fine with no errors.
The files I had to link were krb5.h, profile.h and
com_err.h
