There has been a painful bug in heartbeat 1.0.3 which runs them twice
(concurrently) in a non-nice_failback configuration.

This has been fixed in 1.0.4; the website isn't updated, but updated
packages already have been build:

SuSE packages for all architectures are available from
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/lmb/heartbeat

horms has kindly build packages for RH and Debian too, available from
http://www.ultramonkey.org/download/heartbeat/.

Sincerely,
