Lad's and Lasses, how about a report on the current state of the
split-brain problem?

I will add my info:

Q. Have we agreed that this is the scheduler failing to schedule a soft
realtime process, causing, out of nowhere a long heartbeat delay, and
beginning the failover process?
Q. Has any headway been made in this?
Q. We are seeing this (nightly, during cron, looks like the disk access
is helping the "delay process"), with the newest heartbeat, and the two
newest redhat kernels 2.4.20-19.7 and 2.4.20-20.7.

Whats new, whats changed? I am compiling a vanillla 2.4.22 kernel now,
but have not installed it yet. Have we found a rock-solid configuration
that we can trust is an enterprise environment?

Thank you,
Steven S. Boger
