That is very curious. As you can connect to the machine that does indicate that the cables, nic, driver and routing are working fine. If you can establish a connection packets must be coming in and replies must be going out. I suspect the two most likely causes of this problem are some nefilter rules that you don't know about or you aren't actually connecting to the box at all when you make the inbound connections. Try running tcpdump with the -e option to try and verify just which machine you are making connections to. -- Horms |
