Don't re-invent the wheel; use keepalived (http://www.keepalived.org) or
ultramonkey (www.ultramonkey.org)

I'm not sure how this ascii art makes me feel.  On the one hand it is always
nice to see ascii, but on the other hand there's something sinister about
this art..
