Subject: | what is needed to hide interface? |

I switched to kernel 2.4.25 (vanilla) (on a RedHat 9 -based system, if that matters). I used to hide the lo:0 interface with ip link set lo arp off. Now this doesn't work any more, and I don't see any /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/*/hidden entry. # ip link show lo 1: lo: <LOOPBACK,NOARP,UP> mtu 16436 qdisc noqueue link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00 but the interface is not actually hidden! I resolved the issue with the noarp module, but I'm still curious about what I missed in the kernel configuration... -- pc |
