Connections not showing in ipvsadm

Is there a reason that connections to a service using either the nq or
sed scheduler do not show up in the ActiveConn or InActConn columns in
the output of ipvsadm?

I am using the stock IPVS 1.2.0 and ipvsadm 1.24 on SLES9.
