this sounds more like automatic failout (weight = 0 or 1) than dynamic
adjusting of weigths

He hasn't been on the mailing list since he finished the project, at least
2yrs ago. However he still answers mail at redfishsoftware (see the HOWTO)
so you could write to him privately.
