We're using mon to monitor servers and eventually start our own shell
scripts for failing servers. Does this make any sense you think when
we switch to ldirectord?
We're running on 3x DL360 too... Do you see difference in connections
when deleting and adding a server with active / inactive connections to the 
list?

Does someone know the bug-fixes since 2.6.9 -> 2.6.10?

Seems to be a squid issue, it terminates connections when they are
iddle for 2 minutes exactly.
