this is a lot of work to set up. Computers aren't that expensive
compared to your time (unless your time is free). You're going
to spend more time setting this up and administering it than
you will if the role of director and realserver are on different
boxes. If you're just doing this for fun, then buy some used
cast-off computers for your directors.

You're going to have to sit there and debug your setup one
step at a time.
