Therefore you land in "compile your own kernel" land. If you've got a
machine handy on which you can do it, so much the better.
Also note that calling a CentOS kernel "stock" might get some ribald
comments from the more hardcore Linux evangelists who might hang around
this list - "stock" really only applies to those from kernel.org; almost
every distro applies patches from waaaaay left field when compared to
"vanilla". Or stock :)
If you grab the 2.6.12 sources I think you'll find the patch applied
there already.
Alternatively you can grab your distro kernel source and try to hack the
patches for quiescent templates into that.
