This is probably the cause of the problem. That script had a bug in it,
and I suspect you have a buggy version.

I believe that on FC3 (which i think you are using) that the kernel
is new enough that you do not need to worry about that script at all.
Just remove it from your haresources file _and_ start up
both the master and slave sync daemons at boot time.
