ok, lets just say I am new to linux and new to setting
up LVS with DR. Now, I am doing this as part of
another big project which requries to have lvs more so
nessus-lvs. But before that I read both the howtos
and I need clarification on some things. I still
think I have no idea what is going on after reading
them. That is my fault of course not the howtos (they
are great by the way).

1. Do you need three computers? I have only two.

2. Is is possible to have lvs-dr setup using only two
computers?

3. I was looking at the lvs_dr scripts and got
totally lost with all the different ips. As far as I
know, I have two computers thus two ips with its
corressponding local ips. Now, even if we need three
computers lets say then director script goes on one
and realserver scripts on other rite? Then what
happened of the client? I am lost.

I really need a work way here, if someone could just
slap me up and say I missed this and that and so on it
would be great. Above that it would be nice if
someone could tell me how to go about doing this in
step by step because the how to seems to take lot of
jumps not that it is a bad thing.

Also, I am using kernel 2.6.9 that came with centOS
and I am guessing it has ipvs patch so I fetched
ipvsadm with rpm. Now, I have to do patch the kernel
again with hidden patch. I know how to patch. go to
/usr/src/kernel-2.6.9 and patch correct? After that
what do I do? Do I just make and make install?

Woh!!1Lot of questions I know but I am in trouble with
this thing since a month now and I was hoping to be an
expert in this as I spend much of time trying to make
this work rite but came out as not knowing anything
:(. So if anyone could shine some light, I will be
greatfull.
