We use SLES9 Patchlevel 3
with 2.6.5-7.244-smp Kernel on a fujitsu siemens (rx300S2) server.
There is a broadcom nic inside
NetXtreme BCM5721 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express
which uses the tg3 module (this interface we used for the VIP).
Additional we have an Intel Corporation 82541PI Gigabit Ethernet
Controller (e1000 modul).

I'd rather use the e1000 one, since the tg3 had some overflow issues in early 2.6.x kernels. OTOH SLES9_3 has probably the up to date drivers patched into their kernel.

We are trying now to change the interface for Loadbalancing.

Why?

Cheers,
