You might want to try a netfilter mailing list, I seem to recall a 
discussion on their about why it wasn't possible with a kernel level 
firewall a while back.
LVS is pretty irrelevant to what your trying to achieve (i.e. it just 
sits on the netfilter INPUT chain.).
