Yes indeed, it sounds like LVS can probably help you.
Go to http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/ and/or
http://www.austintek.com/LVS/ and start reading. The HOWTO is a good
guide to getting going - read that, implement a test system as per the
instructions in the HOWTO and post back to this list if you get stuck.
