In the default init scripts from Keepalived distribution it's PID_FILE
variable:
/etc/init.d/keepalived.rh.init:PID_FILE="/var/run/keepalived.pid"
/etc/init.d/keepalived.suse.init:DAEMON_PIDFILE="/var/run/keepalived.pid"
