Are you sure this isn't just your inbound connections peaking at peaking at
1000?

I can get beyond 1000:

somebox ~ # ipvsadm -Ln

Prot LocalAddress:Port Scheduler Flags
  -> RemoteAddress:Port Forward Weight ActiveConn InActConn

Subject: [lvs-users] LVS NAT ActiveConn

Hi All.
About "ActiveConn". It's looks ActiveConn is limited Under 1000 Total.
Is there a reason for this? What am I missing ??

// 4 real serers (NAT)
 # ipvsadm -Ln
 IP Virtual Server version 1.2.1 (size=4096) Prot LocalAddress:Port
Scheduler Flags
   -> RemoteAddress:Port Forward Weight ActiveConn InActConn
 TCP  xxx.xxx.xxx.AAA:80 rr
   -> 10.1xx.xxx.126:80            Masq    1      250        507
   -> 10.1xx.xxx.125:80            Masq    1      254        501
   -> 10.1xx.xxx.124:80            Masq    1      253        501
   -> 10.1xx.xxx.123:80            Masq    1      251        503

// 3 real servers (NAT)
 # ipvsadm -Ln
 IP Virtual Server version 1.2.1 (size=4096) Prot LocalAddress:Port
Scheduler Flags
   -> RemoteAddress:Port Forward Weight ActiveConn InActConn
 TCP  xxx.xxx.xxx.AAA:80 rr
   -> 10.1xx.xxx.126:80            Masq    1      333        499
   -> 10.1xx.xxx.125:80            Masq    1      310        500
   -> 10.1xx.xxx.124:80            Masq    1      351        501

Regards.
shin.
