Hi,

use debian instead of fedora redhat. things become quite easy and u
always get a ready suport . there are a good number of lvs guys out
there in irc channel # debian.
to get started:
a. choose the correct kernel. (2.4.27 supports it). i used debian
sarge where in the modules are already there and i just did a insmod.
b. configure the network cards. i have done with 2 network cards . for
lvs-nat, iptables could be used see netfilter.org, for iptables howto.
if u are testing with private ip's for simplicity make the ip's
different for example 192.168.0.1 for the vip and 192.168.10.1 and
192.168.10.2 for the real servers. in the .10 series use one for the
second card. masq the
second card.

c. just create the service and the real servers. ipcsadm commands see
lvs-nat documentation. (not the howto
d. test it.
it will work just as fine.

after ur first lvs is working fine, go for mon, heartbeat, ldirectord
etc. but i suggest that atleast test ur first working system first.

if u can't make it , let us know, i will send u the sequence of steps.
we have set up a lvs server with a cut down debian sarge system of 100
MB only. for lvs-nat it's easy for the other two u have to do some
more configurations.
