OK, now I'm with you.

You could try, if available, toggling the expire_quiescent_template sysctl. That ensures that sessions are terminated when a realserver is quiesced (weight set to 0) *but* I have a feeling that this will also rudely disconnect your users and send them to one of the other servers mid-session - I haven't played with it myself.

Reading around Horms' various missives on the list about this, it appears that established connections would remain established, but if a user with an existing session connects again they would be sent elsewhere in the cluster.

Give it a try and see if it works for you. My understanding of it is woolly, at best.
