Hi list,

I was wondering what people experience as max throughput on a single LVS
server.

I currently have a LVS server running which can take 450k pps (packets per
second), but above that it really starts showing issues. Has anyone on
this list been able to process more then 450-500k pps on a single LVS
server?

Hardware details:
Dell PowerEdge 1950 with 2 quad-core CPU's (X5355 @ 2.66GHz)
Intel e1000 PCI-E server adapter

Software details:
OS: Debian Etch (4.0) 64-bit
kernel 2.6.23 with MSI enabled
lvs is doing direct routing, scheduler is wlc, protocol is tcp
smp_affinity configured manually
e1000 InterruptThrottleRate at 1000 (max 1000 interrupts per second)
no iptables or other software that can limit performance

Any comments, suggestions, experiences on max throughput are appreciated.

Thanks,

-Patrick
