LVS is a layer 4 switch. It operates at the IP level. It does not
inspect the contents of packets. This ability would be useful to have, 
there is some interest in doing this in the future and it is 
occassionally mentioned here, but it's not the prime focus
of LVS right now. Other people working in related projects 
are possibly working on it or thinking harder about it than
we are.
