You need to make sure IP Aliasing is built into the kernel.  Then you
create/edit the files in /etc/sysconfig/network-setup/ Call them
ifcfg-eth0:0 --> ifcfg-eth0:254  You can copy the existing file ifcfg-eth0
if you need to.  Then restart the network '/etc/rc.d/init.d/network
restart' and you should be all set.
