i was just thinking about setting up infrastructure such as hotmail and
yahoomail... could LVS be used to scale services like this.

i am working on the idea of scalable mail services. i have a solution
based on postfix+mysql+courierimap already. this setup seems to be fine.
however, i have not considered a setup of webmail servers. i was thinking
about using LVS to scale these web services.

with web-based email the connections must be persistent. also https must
be available. i would just like to know if someone was able to
successfully build a setup for this.

thanks.
