You can still assign those addresses by using aliases...

eth0 Class C IP
eth0:0 private IP

However this will of course add to the load on that hardware....

Of course option 2 is to buy more ethernet cards and a hub and build
another network with the same computers...this does two things, it will
lower the collision rate on the outside network, and it will allow you
to split the outside network and actually use multiple connections to
the internet for your LVS....that is why I built a second network.

I don't believe that you actually NEED to build a private network.  The
director can forward on the outside network just fine, but you will
probably HAVE to have a seperate DIP than the VIP or use the redirection
method instead of hidden.

Of course, if you don't want to be able to talk with the world then it
does not matter....just make your internal routers route those yrivate
addresses to your cluster and it will be available to you and not the
world.
