Hello,

It would be wiser to use a plain vanilla kernel instead of this (I guess RedHat) kernel to try out LVS.

sysinfo.c:11:27: linux/compile.h: No such file or directory
sysinfo.c: In function `svr4_sysinfo':
sysinfo.c:85: `UTS_VERSION' undeclared (first use in this function)

make[1]: *** [_modsubdir_svr4] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.18-10/abi'
make: *** [_mod_abi] Error 2

This has nothing to do with LVS. Your kernel sources are flawed or you forgot a cleanup. A 'make dep clean' should probably do it.

I remember having seen this 'ABI' compilation issues before. You don't need the ABI stuff anyway to run LVS ;).

We're thinking that there is maybe an issue running this on a smp
system? If not any clue would be great.

There are no issues on running LVS on an SMP system once you get the kernel compiled and running.
